Initially, I volunteered with the hopes of forming stronger relationships with more members and attendees so that events would be less awkward. Through volunteering, though, I've been able to work on marketing projects I would not have the opportunity to at my "day job."
Barb Balogh
Volunteer and Board Member since 2004
I wanted to gain skills I wasn't able to in my job at the time. I also wanted more networking
experience to help come out of my shell a bit.

Volunteer since 2006, Board Member since 2007
To me, it's fun. It's pretty much like running a business from all angles so I'm getting a huge amount of experience too. And there is a great group of volunteers running the chapter right now. You can't help but want to lend your free time to this great cause!
JoAnn Luecke
Volunteer and Board Member since 2009
I was introduced to AMA by another member. She had heard I was in transition at NOP and
basically told me that I must get involved in AMA. So I attended an event, met Barb and the
rest of the team and decided to join them! I enjoy meeting and networking monthly with all of
the fine professionals in Cleveland. If you are reading this, it’s your time to get involved!!!

It's the only way to really get to know other members and build a network with career-minded people. And who knew it would be so fun?

Volunteering with the chapter is the best way to make the most of your membership. It offers
opportunities to get to know other marketing professionals, develop leadership skills and the
chance to work on projects that are different from your everyday job.
Patty DelMonico
Volunteer and Board Member since 2009
I volunteer to become more involved in the AMA and for the opportunity to meet new people.
Chris MacLaren
Volunteer and Board Member since 2009
I volunteer because it's a chance to get more involved in the community and for networking
purposes.
Larry Courtney
Volunteer and Board Member since 2007
I joined the AMA initially to increase my networking experience but as I became more involved and closer to a lot of the members I became a volunteer and joined the Board. Being both a member and volunteer has enabled me to meet people that I normally would not get a chance to and develop both professional and personal relationships that are truly valuable.
Bob Goricki
Volunteer since 2007
I volunteer because I like to be active in the groups that I join. It makes me feel like I am a part
of making the organization better.
Krystyl Patterson
Volunteer since 2009
I enjoy volunteering for the AMA because I get to develop new skills, meet new people and network with other local professionals.
Jeff Staats
Volunteer since 2009
Volunteering for the AMA gives me the opportunity to help out an organization that I feel directly
assists my passion and profession. With work and a growing family, I don’t get much time to
network, but since my goal is to obtain a board position, I focus on making that time
commitment.
Alexis Dankovich
Volunteer since 2009
The AMA is a great way to connect with marketing and communication professionals in Cleveland to share ideas, discuss hot industry topics and have a little fun. I decided to volunteer because I wanted to be an active member and help take a lead in social media marketing for the organization. Ultimately, I benefit from the contribution because I expand my marketing network and grow my circle of friends.
Cheryl Roche
Volunteer since 2009
I joined the AMA when I began my search for a new job after being at home with my children
for two years. The monthly mixers provide a great opportunity for networking, while the
educational sessions continue to bring me up to speed on the latest marketing services and
stragegies. I also enjoy getting involved by volunteering on the Marketing Committee. The
contacts I have made have been instrumental in getting my foot in the door with some key
companies in the area. With all the added benefits, my membership has more than paid for
itself.
